Hello there!
This year, I have created a Sixth Grade Theme called “Random Acts of Literacy”. I came up with this theme based on the love I have for the book Random Acts of Kindness , the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and the feeling that a good book, just like kindness, is something that can bring great joy to people, if only we take the time to spread the love of reading to others. As an underlying, year-long theme, our “Random Acts of Literacy” will take many shapes and forms. From the “electronic book reviews” (imovies and podcasts) to creating short stories for younger children to our own version of bookcrossing (the concept of reading and releasing book to total strangers) – our class mission is to read as much as possible and encourage others to do the same.
This blog has been created as a place where my students (and parents) can write about the books they love or love to hate. It is yet another way we can share our love of reading and encourage others to crack a good book.
We will use this blog as part of our fantasy literature circle/book club project, so stay tuned for more information.
