A true masterpiece! I couldn’t stop reading; this story incorporated all the elements to make it such an exciting thriller. Before reading this story, I truly had no idea there were ever dogs aboard the Titanic, but now I realize how big a part they were to the families that owned them. They provided love and comfort during the voyage across seas. The thing is, (as you can tell from the dates at the beginnings of chapters) it happened so quickly, without notice, that many were too shocked and suprised to realize the real crisis, and how crucial it was to evacuate the women and children to the safety of the lifeboats. I would have to say that my favorite part was when the boat, Carpathia, had come to the rescue; I thought the survivors really needed something to cheer about! This book weaves a life or death situation into a fabulous mystery no reader is sure to forget!

Talk about a life vs. dealth situtation! This was a suspenseful book from the time the Titanic set sail to the horrible tragedy. I could not put the book down. Every chapter kept getting better and better. My favorite part was when the ship, Carpathia, came to save the victims of the Titanic, because it gave them hope that they would survive. The Titanic was supposed to be unsinkable; however, it sank so fast that no one could believe it. Before I read this book, I did not know that people refused to get on a life boat without their dogs. I would recommend this book to my grandma because she loves dogs and she really enjoyed the movie Titanic.

My favorite part of the book Wite Star was when the Titanic hit a massive iceburg and people simply thoght that it would only slow them down, but it was more than that, way more than that. As i was reading the after pages,i noticed two things. first, on the titanic their are way more first class rooms than second and third class rooms. Second, more than fourteen years before the Titanic their was a book written by Morgan Robertson called the wreck of the titan. It was a novel about the largest boat ever built that hit an iceburg and sank most of the passengers in the novel drowned because of the lack of lifeboats. just like the Titanic.

A true work of art. I loved the book. the athor made the book so you couldn’t put it down. It had explsive vocabulary and it got better towards the end. It shoked me when I found a typo in the book. I thought it would be checed over and over till it was perfect. It really hyped me up when I started the book. I never knew you could bring dogs on the Titanic.
“Not without my dog.”This quote was a well writtin line. It shows that the chracter really cares about the dog ,no wonder dogs are called man’s best friend.
My favorite part was when Carpathia rescued the victams of the trajic event. It was really a life vs. death situtation especially for the dog who saved Sam. This part had a boat load of action. It also had me worried at times. I wish all books were written like this one.

The reason I chose the book White Star, A Dog on the Titanic, was because I am interested in the Titanic and I really like dogs. I liked the book because I could imagine myself being Sam and wanting to save the dog. The part of the book that caught my attention was when the writer was talking about the things Sam could count on, like his friend, his grandparents, Star and the Titianic. No one ever thought the Titanic would sink, but it did! My favorite part of the book was the end because he was back with his mom and stepdad and he got to keep Star.

In the beginning of this book, I have to admit it really didn’t interest me at all. But as soon as I got to the middle it got more lively and fun to read. When it started sinking I felt more emotion from the book and wanted to read more.
I would recommend this book to my mom, because she isn’t a fan of animals. I’ve been trying to make her have more of an appreciation for our dog. Maybe this book would help her realize how great they can really be, even though our dog doesn’t exactly save our lives very often.
If I were to re-title this book, I would name it The Sea Below, White Star Above. I would name it this because, the sea had taken many lives but White Star had saved one.
Over all I really did enjoy this book. It had happy adventures and sad ones but they all were entertaining. There was a variety of events and and they were all interesting. The characters each had there own personality and the author made it seem like you knew them and were good friends with them. This book was an informative but fun book to read.

Before Sam boarded the Titanic he had no one to depend on. That all changed when a brown and white Irish Setter stepped on deck. In this book, the boy and the dog’s loyalty to each other stood out above all. The following quotes helped me to better understand this loyalty. The quote,”I’m not leaving Star behind, no matter what the officers say,” shows the strong bond between Star and Sam. Sam leaves his friends and family behind to save his trusted companion because of their deep attachment to each other. The second quote, “Star saved my life. I didn’t save his,” demonstrates his gratitude towards Star. It also shows Sam’s humble character for giving the dog the credit he deserves. The book, White Star, was truly inspirational because of the loyal and persevering personality between Sam and his shining Star.

This is a fabulous and interesting book because emotions and I couldn’t stop reading this book because it has fact about the Titanic. Also it had relationship with a dog,Star, and a boy,Sam.
I recomend this book to my brother and sister because they both love dogs and now they now that dogs could even save a preson!
The title I would use for the book is, “Star: A Dog Who Saves A Boy’s Life,” , because when the Titanic was about the sink, Sam and Star were about to jump but then, Sam realized that he could not swim. then Sam held on tight and jumped and then, somehow Sam was swimming upward and started paddling and he was glad that he had Star with him.
My favorite part about the book is every single thing that happened, because like I said, IT WAS INTERESTING. So, now Sam and his sparkling Star are survivors of the sinking Titanic.
